🎶 SNEAK PREVIEW OF BOOK 2 COMING SOON!
One captive princess ... One mysterious key ...
And one hedgehog minding his own business.
Yarrow, the young hedgehog minstrel, has his life figured out. He wants to play his mandolin, sing a few songs, and eat muffins at the fireside. Traveling across the country with his owl friend and the foxling twins, Yarrow seeks the perfect audience for his genius.
But then the troupe encounters a letter from a princess who is imprisoned by the evil Mugwort and his barbarian army. Now Yarrow's peace - and maybe his life - is endangered.
Can his selfish heart make room for helping those in need?
Fans of The Green Ember, Redwall, and Narnia will be pleased to discover this new adventure series illustrating courage, sacrifice, and hope.
Are your kids running out of clean fiction?
Mine are!
Kids learn from the stories they read.
Bad stories give them an unrealistic view of the world and how it works.
Good stories can help them learn how to apply Biblical teaching to everyday situations. They might not have to rescue badger princesses, but Yarrow's struggles in The Bone Key show how our characters develop and how we learn to put aside our selfish urges. My goal with this series is to illustrate good character attributes and how to handle tough situations without sacrificing plot or pacing and without any heavy-handed narrator moralizing. My characters make choices and deal with the consequences. They're in a fantasy world, but beneath the surface, it's not so different from ours!
"But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
Luke 10:29 ESV

What my readers say:
I really enjoyed reading this! I loved the animals and their personalities! I loved the minstrel instruments and costumes! The feel of the book reminds me of Green Ember. I did not want to put it down & was so disappointed when I ran out of pages!
Female, 28
I liked it. I loved that the main characters were hedgehog and foxes.
Male, 14
It was well written and well developed. Each character had very distinct personalities and the story moved at a good pace. Can't wait for the next one.
Christa, Homeschool Mom of 5
I really liked it. It was very well written. The vocabulary was perfect for the age group you were aiming for - simple enough to understand, but broad enough to challenge and expose older kids to words they might not normally hear. Overall, I really enjoyed it and I would definitely like to be on the list for future books!
